- 12 oz ziti pasta
- 15 oz ricotta cheese
- 2 cups marinara sauce
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh basil (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Cook the ziti pasta according to the package instructions. Once cooked, drain the pasta and set it aside.
- Prepare the ricotta mixture by combining ricotta cheese, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper in a large mixing bowl.
- In a baking dish, layer the ingredients as follows:
- Spread half of the marinara sauce on the bottom.
- Add half of the cooked ziti pasta.
- Spoon half of the ricotta mixture over the pasta.
- Sprinkle half of the shredded mozzarella cheese.
- Repeat the layers using the remaining ingredients.
- Top the dish with the remaining marinara sauce, then sprinkle grated Parmesan and the rest of the mozzarella cheese on top.
- Bake the dish in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
- Let it cool for a few minutes before serving. Garnish with fresh basil if desired.
