  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh basil (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook the ziti pasta according to the package instructions. Once cooked, drain the pasta and set it aside.
  3. Prepare the ricotta mixture by combining ricotta cheese, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper in a large mixing bowl.
  4. In a baking dish, layer the ingredients as follows:

    • Spread half of the marinara sauce on the bottom.
    • Add half of the cooked ziti pasta.
    • Spoon half of the ricotta mixture over the pasta.
    • Sprinkle half of the shredded mozzarella cheese.
    • Repeat the layers using the remaining ingredients.

  5. Top the dish with the remaining marinara sauce, then sprinkle grated Parmesan and the rest of the mozzarella cheese on top.
  6. Bake the dish in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
  7. Let it cool for a few minutes before serving. Garnish with fresh basil if desired.
