    • Topping (optional):
        • 1 cup of breadcrumbs

        • 2 tablespoons of melted butter

        • 1 tablespoon of chopped fresh parsley

Instructions

Step 1: Cook the Pasta

    1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil.

    1. Add the pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente.

    1. Drain the pasta and set it aside.

Step 2: Prepare the Cheese Sauce

    1. In a large saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat.

    1. Add the flour and whisk continuously for about 1-2 minutes until the mixture turns a light golden color.

    1. Gradually pour in the milk, whisking constantly to prevent lumps from forming.

    1. Continue to cook, stirring frequently, until the sauce thickens and begins to simmer.

    1. Reduce the heat to low and add the cheddar, mozzarella, and Parmesan cheeses.

    1. Stir until the cheeses have melted and the sauce is smooth and creamy.

    1. Season the sauce with salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and mustard powder to taste.

Step 3: Combine Pasta and Sauce

    1. Add the cooked pasta to the cheese sauce.

    1. Stir until the pasta is evenly coated with the sauce.

Step 4: Optional Topping

    1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

    1. In a small bowl, mix the breadcrumbs with melted butter and chopped parsley.

    1. Transfer the mac and cheese to a greased baking dish.

    1. Sprinkle the breadcrumb mixture evenly over the top.

    1. Bake for 20-25 minutes until the topping is golden brown and crispy.

Step 5: Serve

    1. Remove the mac and cheese from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes.

    1. Serve hot and enjoy!
